I used to moderate a stationery group at OneList/eGroups/YahooGroups (we
seemed to have put a few listservers out of business lol) and pretty
much ran the group for a year or so while the owner was off pursuing 'other
interests', so this topic is one in which I have quite a bit of experience
and opinion. While nearly everyone had their options set to HTML for the
group (a typical day would yield from 20-30 Mb. of email just from that one
group), almost all of the folks I knew offlist changed them back to Text
when sending email to any other destination. The only exception was when
sending a private message to another stat group member. In that case, you
WANTED them see your latest work of art and you KNEW that they wouldn't
object to it being so large. LOL

In addition to setting it to Text Only, be sure to uncheck the option to
Reply to messages in the same format with which they were sent. This is the
only way to ensure that none of your messages leave your machine in HTML or
"Rich Text" mode.

Peace,
G Man
