I have some friends now who have started to use this. They subscribed to the cable company back home - but still use aol. I didn't understand exactly what they were doing when I heard about it - and if they then still used their aol address or could have another address - It was a 'quick' conversation this summer when I was home.It was more of a comment. I'm still baffled with the attachment thing - it doesn't matter if there are links present or not when I receive them - so, I would then assume, that if you use Outlook express, which is what I use, and friends who get the attachments, that it will always come in as an attachment. And it probably works similar to my mother's web tv does - I haven't had time to look for an aol e-mail on here yet - but if I have one, I'll send it to you MJH, and you can tell me how it arrives in your aol ! I DID use that feature at ONE time--WAY back. When I could get one ISP for free for decent number of hours per month.. that's not available to me anymore. At this point this area is down to 3 dialups, one being AOL and two cable set ups.. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Foxhillers@xxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2003 6:30 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: AOL basics? > In a message dated 9/25/03 9:04:39 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > kg6ocz@xxxxxxxxxxxxx writes: > > > > > I never could figure THAT out..unless the second ISP is/was free which is > > seldom anymore or if it is there aren't enough hours in the free one to be > > bothered with.
