What about bitdefender 10? It's free and quite  effective for a while
(after which it stops working when its subscription  runs out).

PS: How much of your  hard drive is free space? (Check in "My Computer).
 
Thanks, I'm justy emptying cache including going into files suas  
cache/local settings; and avg *.tmp files
 
I'm at 1.64GM now and taking a rest.
