Hey Eric, Good suggestions! I would be interested in how Sake is brewed and using buckwheat to make gluten free beer too. Anyone want to volunteer on any of these subjects? We have March, April and May filled. We have a wide open calendar. Any subject you feel you can talk on that would enlighten the beginner to the expert is wanted. A big thank you to Ben on sharing the different stages yeast go through and how it affects beer tonight. Single Malt and Single Hop. Please let me know if this sparks any thoughts. Eric On Mon, Feb 11, 2013 at 5:04 PM, David Jones <david@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Hello Eric; First.... Let me say to everyone in the club, I won't be able to make it to tonights meeting. My wife's been ill for a couple of weeks so I can't make it. I hate to miss two meetings in a row, but sometimes life just deals that hand.... But on to club business.... Good to know someone is leading the charge on teaching new brewers and us oldies too.... :-) I'd be happy to teach on most any subject needed, just let me know what's needed. I've never had the desire to stop learning, so anyone else who has input on a topic at the meetings, you'll find me right there with an open ear. I'd really be interested to know if any of the club members have tried to make Sake? Also, making cider is a challenge any of us should consider since we're blessed with lots of apple groves around the area. One topic I've covered before and would be available to do again is hops. Just give me a shout. Eric, take notes and let those of us who can't make it tonight know how it goes and what's on the topic list for wants/needs and who's willing to teach a session on them. Thanks again and I really wish I could be there.... but as always... Cheers!!! We have begun a new year and since this is a beer club with an educational bent we need to know what the club membership is interested in learning or teaching. Please think about what interests you have in brewing, what subjects you would like to know more about, and the specifics of brewing that you have questions about and bring those ideas to tonight's meeting at Stateline or email them directly to me at Slagoraphobia@xxxxxxxxx. Once I have a list of suggestions for topics we can find members with knowledge on that subject and get a presentation calendar working. On the other hand if you would like present on a subject then please let me know when you can do it. Hope to see everyone tonight.
