Amen to that, Linda. I'm glad you put Tallguy in his place. Not everybody knows about Wi-Fi.

If you are going to be with Tyme-Werner, you have cable and won’t need a router. But then again, you can’t be expected to know the ins and outs of all this wy-fi stuff as you’ve not had a working computer in your apartment in a very, very long time, and I’m not sure they had routers and Wy-Fi when you did have one many years ago. Please, Tallguy, not all of us have had computer experience onthis list. Training for us blind folks is usually just done via Vocational Rehab and is very expensive to come by. Fortunately we can learn from each other online, assuming we can get online in the first place.

I wish they would do that here. If they did that I would just get the router. Maybe my provider will provide one I'm not sure. If they did that would sure be a good thing. But that's basically how that goes.

Actually, when I lived in Texas four years ago now, they did offer

like you do for their equipment, but we had our own, so didn’t
    need it.

hahahaha -- that is so funny!! No, you don't seem to understand
    how these things work!

The service company does not provide wi-fi! Sheesh! It is YOU that
must make it. You can piggy-back on someone else's system, if you
have the password, but there is no privacy that way. But you would
still need to pay for the service, and then YOU put in the router
and make your own wi-fi. You can do that with any service..... no
one company has it or not have it. It is all part of the same
thing. Some service providers, in order to get and keep customers,
will place hot-spots around the city in public spaces, and you can
use that if you have an account with that company. Some internet
access is free but that is so very rare. Even at our library
(which provides free hot-spots), you still need to have a
membership card in order to access their wi-fi. All the new
computers will read wi-fi, if there is any within easy reach. If
you meant that you want to use your smart phone, that is another
    issue.

Aaahhh, Kathleen, these next three weeks will go fast, I’m sure.

I would certainly think that Panics has Wy-fi available. Verizon
is actually a very good cell phone provider whether you’ve got an
I-phone or a flip phone.  Their landline business I’ve never had
so can’t tell you of my experiences, but I can say that Verizon
works partially even in our county hospital which has very thick
walls. It’s a building that was built in the 1920’s, and of course
then, they were just getting landline telephones universally. They have a lot of equipment that probably interrupts in-coming
cell calls but I was able to call Paratransit just before my
doctor came in to see me yesterday.  Since she came in quickly, I
hung up before I could talk to anyone.

Oh, I’m sure you’ll be ecstatic getting back home!!!!  So glad
    you’ll be back soonest!!!!
