With 9i there is a the NID utility which allows you to change the DBID after
you duplicate the database with rman. Just have a look at the docs, it is
really simple and works like a charm.

I I've got a number of servers to create multiple 9i databases.
Is it possible to just create one system tablespace and
just copy it
multiple times?
I'd just use the controlfile to rename the SID.
The problem is getting around RMAN registering the database ID.
