That said, Oracle (generally) won't "de-support" the entire instance.
(I suppose that
may still be a risk, but I don't consider it likely)
What they will typically do is tell you that "you're on your own" if
it looks like
(or if they even suspect) that modification is related to the problem...
Either way, I generally wouldn't recommend that modification.
