Too late. They have been using 4K with 10 bit samples since they converted to 
digital projection. They have had HDR and the DCI-P3 wide color gamut for 
years...

What's the effect when projecting on cinema-size screens? Seems like the 
darkened venue is a plus, but the huge screen a minus? Almost like it would 
require lasers.

There are some laser projection systems in use. I don't go to many movies, but 
digital projection has been a major improvement. Now they just need to use 
higher frame rates for selected high motion scenes...
