Linn County uses Meraki, which is a variant of DD-WRT; we provide limited virtual stacking of: Public, Private (for county use), and Secured access for PCI compliance/DA's use. Employees authenticate via AD/LDAP. Currently, we are extending those services to the Parks Department and county parks which have internet access. Meraki's unique auto provisioning (open source jabber) site-to-site VPN connects branches securely to a VM concentrator, where rights and access is managed. https://meraki.cisco.com/products/architecture Larry Jones Director ~ Information Technology Services [cid:image003.gif@01CF8F96.BCEEB2A0]Linn County 300 4th Ave SW Albany, Oregon O: 541 967-3803 x2591 x2043 C: 541 971-7066 LJones@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:LJones@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> www.co.linn.or.us<http://www.co.linn.or.us/> ________________________________ From: oagitm-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:oagitm-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jim Gardner Sent: Tuesday, June 24, 2014 9:32 AM To: 'oagitm@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [oagitm] WIFI All, I have a general question about WIFI? Do you provide it at your facilities and to what extent do you secure it. We currently provide public WIFI that is segregated from our wired network, but it is only a partially managed solution that blocks sites by categories. We are getting pressure to provide WIFI to all employees and the public with the employees being able to access all network files and work related resources. That would be a significant cost to secure and provide that type of service, so I just wanted to see how/ and what everyone else was doing with WIFI at this point?
