I tried this once some years ago (when President) - running two such meetings in a coffee shop downtown on Dundas Street - nice and central for people to get to - the owner was quite happy providing that it was not on certain evenings which were being used by other meetings - after all it did bring in some business as many members had a coffee plus during the meeting which provided him with customers (though this was not required by him) - unfortunately the idea generally was not popular so you might not want to try that... just giving you some actual experience...
