Hi Linda,

MS Outlook uses MS Word as a mail editor which
supports all the picture format. That is why Diane
sees the picture when creating a new mail. When you
send the mail the Outlook converts the microsoft word
format to the HTML format. During conversion process, 
picture format which diane using is not supported. I
think she uses jpg format that might be a older
version of jpg. Try with microsoft supported format.
Even you can see same kind of red marked "X" pictures
in some of the news website such as CNN, FoxNews etc.
It means that the picture read by the browser can't
displayed.
