================== So I take it you don't want to stop at each find? ================== Actually, I do want to stop at each find. I'm editing text and code. The fonts/formatting of the text and code sections are different. So, if I could do a find on curly, and just click next, next, next, I could step through the document. As long as I kept ending up in a text area, there would be no problem. But if I found a curly in a code section, I'd know instantly I had a problem. As it is, I find both curly and text and so I have to a) look close to see which one it is b) look close to see which section it is c) engage my brain to see if that type is allowed in that section d) repeat Your suggestion is EXCELLENT for doing the replace. But I'd like to filter the FIND to make it "easier". I'm getting the impression it is not possible to filter the find. James S.
