This really depends on your version. There were issues in previous =
versions - took too much time to load, more crashes and the like. =
However since Office2003 this option works very well. We have over 500 =
stations working with Word as editor for the past 3 years and not a =
single problem.
There are small side-effects. The one that comes to mind is that if you =
want to print an email before sending it, all the headings (e.g. TO, =
Subject) will not print.
