Yup...not a problem. Just insert a bookmark and then you can reference a
page to that item. That's usually how folks insert stuff like "See page ##
for more information."

So a bookmark can be hidden inside a textbox/frame at one location and
reference from another. That's pretty easy. A more sophisticated version of
that is how you can figure out page numbers across separate docs.

Bottom line is Word will do it better if the newsletter is being read on the
computer, because the bookmarks will allow people to click to jump to the
next part. However, if it's a printed newsletter, then Publisher makes it
easier because it actually shows the page number and the text automatically
overflows there. Obviously, in a printed newsletter, a hyperlink to a
bookmark would be useless.

Unless there's a way to make Word actually print the page number where the
bookmark is? Is there? Maybe that's what Dian is saying? Is that what you
mean when you say "reference", Dian?

But, I agree that newsletters are much easier to make in Publisher. I teach
an Advanced Word class and one of the chapters of the book is on creating
newsletters and I'm constantly grumbling "grrrr. This would be so much
easier if we were using Publisher" ... But, alas, in the world of business
colleges, Publisher is considered a joke ... They all use Quark Xpress,
which is the industry favorite....but for a simple newsletter, it's quite a
learning curve.

I think the question was about whether "Continued" can be made to appear
automatically at the bottom/top of the chained text boxes.

This is easy to do in Publisher - it's a property of the text box: Format
text box / text box / include "continued on page" and include "continued
from page".

Although you can link two or more text boxes in Word for automatic flow of
text, the "continued" line controls aren't provided in the Format text box /

text box pop-up. Nor do they seem to be mentioned in the help, and I'd say
you can't do it automatically in Word.

But, that's why Publisher still exists. Word is a facility to put content
on paper. Publisher is a facility for putting words on a layout. For
newsletter-type publications (where layout is as important as content), I'd
always go with Publisher.
