If I'm understanding what you want to do, Ray, I'm thinking you need to look into "permissions" .... If you go to the Tools menu and choose Security, you'll see you can create groups, then assign different users to different groups ... Then you can set each group to have different permissions ... So, that way different people can edit different parts of the database. It also sounds like you need to do some research on front end and back end databases ... Basically, it means your queries, forms, etc. all live in the front end database which the users have full access to, but then the tables live in a separate back end database, which only administrators have rights to. To do this, go to the Tools menu and choose Database Utilities> Database Splitter. There are more ways to do what you want, I'm sure, but these two come to mind as options for you. Good luck. A friend has installed a desktop computer in a public area for club members to consult. He wants to allow anyone to run any of the predefined queries and view any of the reports he has designed, but he doesn't want anyone to change any of the data or delete any or all of the DB. The PC is not networked and it is not connected to the internet. He is using Office 2003 on a WinXP Home SP2 box. He tried placing the DB in a password-protected non-administrator account, but anyone who has the password of the account can still modify the data or delete the DB. Any ideas?
