I think you and I are the only ones around on MSO at the moment! ;-)
Never heard of any file extension 'OXLSO' - Google doesn't come up with
anything either...
Regarding your extra characters in your email - it's your email client
causing it.
If you were using Outlook, the fix is here:

But as you're using Eudora - I have no idea how you fix it... Sorry!
