You can try this company in Paris, they sell all kind of steel, copper, 
aluminium, bronze even if you need only 0.5 m...(even less)They are well known 
of the French steam addicts and model engineers.They can quote and export what 
you need.

I have no special connection with them but they are really nice people and are 
always ready to provide advices and cut the parts at the lengths you may need 
except for the " stub steel" (mini 2 m)
