But the taper will allow the crankpin and wheel to behave very much like a collet where when the drawbar is loosened the pin (and the return crank) can be adjusted to very fine limits. This would not be necessary if my return cranks were bored for a round crankpin stub end but I intend for them to be square so a means of locating them exactly, or of fine adjustment, is needed.
