Hi All,

Actually, from what I understand, Apple says FrontRow is perfectly compatible with VO. I got the cute little remote with my MacBook, and have played with it a few times, during this tad over a week, now, since I got it, and it works quite well, in general. Only thing I don't really like about it is that if you go beyond the top end of system volume, the remote continues raising volume - iTunes volume!

One other thing I've discovered about the remote is, if you just press the center button, you can start iTunes playing, regardless where you're at on your machine! Left & Right sides of the circle move you back and forward a song at a time, holding Left or Right will scan through the song. Center button, again, pauses the song. Top and Bottom of the circle raise and lower the volume - both of the Mac, and/or iTunes.

Haven't really used it much, seeing as how I practically live at my keyboard! LOL Now, if one can find a compatible IR receiver, this little gem would work great with an older Mac, hooked up to your home entertainment system! <grin!>

Naturally, as Travis pointed out, so elloquently, this little gem is also great for messing with the heads of friends, relatives, roommates, husbands, wives - what have you! <grin!>

HTH?

Take care!

Ron

I think the only thing what happens when you try to use the remote is that FrontRow shows up on the screen. I don't think it's compatible with VO, but it certainly won't do anything bad to it. It's just an interface that lets you browse your media as if it was an iPod...

Haha that's funny was thinking about asking if anybody had used the remote. lol I have one too and haven't had the nerve to try it in case it messed up VO which I bet it will. If you try it, make sure you have sighted help in case it all stops talking.

Yes, I got a remote with my last mac mini and wondered if it was at all accessible. It's sitting in a drawer because I haven't gotten around to trying to figure it out.
