I don't think this is really a bug, as turning off type ahead just isn't an included feature rather than a feature that doesn't work. However, it isn't true that nobody complains about it. I found several complaints about it when I googled it, and these weren't from vo users or visually impaired/blind users at all insofar as I could tell.
