wen you go to mail, you are required to set it up.  there is a way not to 
send mail and that is to make sure the account doesn't go online but you 
cannot send mail if the account is off line.

I am not receiving mail at least I don't think. I can't tell if there was no
mail to receive or if it didn't go through.
I don't really want to receive mail on the Mac as I will just have to delete
it all when I take it back.
There might be another setting I set wrong, I don't know. It doesn't seem to
be able to authenticate.
