If you can't send email, check what type of authentication your ISP requires.

Yep it seems to be doing that. I can receive mail on the mac, just not send it.Sara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ginny" <ginnyo@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, May 06, 2008 6:27 PM Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: A tad OT Trying to send mail. There is an option to leave messages on the server. If you check this box, then you will still receive mail, but you will also receive it in your"regular" mail client. You can just delete it from the Mac and still receive it in your Windows mailbox. Hope that makes sense. -----Original Message----- From: macvoiceover-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:macvoiceover-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Sara Sent: Tuesday, May 06, 2008 6:15 PM To: macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: A tad OT Trying to send mail. I can't tell if there wasno mail to receive or if it didn't go through.I don't really want to receive mail on the Mac as I will just have todelete it all when I take it back. There might be another setting I set wrong, I don't know. It doesn't seemto be able to authenticate. When you see a password field, it will say secure edit text if you tab to it, if you want to clear it, hit command-a and delete. just type and ifyou know you are typing correctly, just press enter when done. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sara" <push649@xxxxxxx> To: <macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, May 06, 2008 6:08 PM Subject: [macvoiceover] A tad OT Trying to send mail. Hi all. I tried to use Mail to send a message on the Mac.I couldn't get it to work. I hate those secure edit fields. I can't tell what I am typing and I can't even tell if there is any text in there or whether not I am deleting all the text to clear it so I can make sure Iam entering a password correctly. Also, I don't know how to make sure the settings are right. I need to useapassword and username, but not a secure connection I think that's how myISP works. I've never had any trouble with Windows and Outlook Express.
