Totally agree it is ridiculous that you forget what you learn to learn
something else. We be in big trouble getting thru school wouldn’t we. I know
plenty of people that use all kind of OS on all kind of machines and they don't
forget one thing they learn to learn another.
Now I would say you cannot try to maybe bring how windows work over to the Mac
this is visual or non-visual. But much so more with the non-visual. But to
forget what you learn NO way!
What does this say about yourself and what you think of yourself that you are
so dense you cannot learn but one thing !

I don’t particularly care for track pad so I don’t use one. I’m sure I could if
I needed to though, because I use an Iphone all the time. I’ve been using my
Mac for about 4.5 years or in that range. I still can use a computer with JAWS

on a Mac and the system is set up differently, but to say you should forget

it, windows was my only frame of reference. After people got done yelling about
how I should forget about windows they would give me the answer I needed and I
was fine. How would I ask the question with no frame of reference though or how
would I have any idea what I could accomplish if I didn’t refer to my past
experience? We’re all different and perhaps for some they do need to forget all
about what’s gone before. Sometimes though < think people make things much
harder than they need to be. Whatever you do, learn things a little at a time
and stay with it. Start by tackling the basic tasks first and keep adding.
Suddenly you’ll realize that you know all sorts of things and are well on your
way to using the new device.

I first heard DECTalk on the old Xerox Kurzweil standalone scanning
machine. If you're old enough to remember, it came in two parts: the
scanner and the `computer' which was designed like an attache case.
I fell in love with the voices (Perfect Paul, Betty etc.) there and
then and haven't looked back since, although I first acquired my
DECTalk hardware synth some eight years later.

Now if you are wanting to go this way just to save money on ascreen reader then this might not be the thing to do especially
