Hello,
I tend to use either Samantha, or the UK female Siri, or even Karen. On note
takers, I'm pretty much stuck with eloquence, or the good old trusty keynote
voice. I hate eloquence, though. I have to say, Alex has some strange things,
especially if you use double brackets and some strings around words....

The default US female voice is okay, but Alex is definitely a
favourite round here. *smile*
On Windows I use
wait for it
deep breaths
DECTalk (software)

Well, that is true on the Mac any how! Or on IOS devices. I use
Alex on my iPhone.

Well, you can run windows on your Mac for the times you just got
to have it. I do think Mac is taking off more in the government and
enterprise sector now. Now will it continue the trend I just don't
know. Only time will tell.
Now if you are wanting to go this way just to save money on a
screen reader then this might not be the thing to do especially if
you use Excel a lot then you really need to use some kind of
windows and with a major screen reader like JFW. Now MS office is
supposed to be accessible on Mac now but will it continue to be
that way or will at some point it might not be again.
I don't have a Mac as of now I plan on getting one in the near
future but by no means will it be my only computer with just one OS
on it. I have window computer so will I put windows on my mac
don't know but I do want to get one and use it. As both Mac and
Windows have different things to offer and does better than the
other does. I have never found a one silver bullet that does
everything I want. So to me getting a Mac is just adding a tool to
my tool box. That is becoming very large now. JMT

Hi.

I've been using a PC for 25 years or so.

I notice more blind using Macs and as the voice is getting more
user friendly, as it seems, I'm wondering whether to get a Mac for
my next computer.

I use Excel for my business, banking and writing cheques and I
use Flash player to listen to recordings as I'm in the piano business.

I would appreciate some advice. I realize there are so many in
this group who are totally familiar with the Mac and with Voiceover.

Thanks, thanks so much.
