Given that the Bush Administration has proposed a 7 %
increase in the military budget for 2007, ($439
billion, "only a small share of the increase would
cover specialized anti-terror and counter-insurgency
systems") it's hard to see why the military-industrial
complex would be mad with them. A sentimental
attachment to those old howitzers, perhaps ?
