Our eyes, in my Mother's parlance, are bigger than our stomachs, Lawrence.
I have stacks of books on the floor, having run out of room on my floor to
ceiling wall to wall shelves (of books which I *have* read), which fit into
the "must read *yesterday* category, not to mention my wish-list of books to
own and hope to read.  I have more recipes collected than I could make if I
were to make a new one daily for the rest of my life.  Etc.

I suppose, re. JL's posts, John's response, etc., that it's simply the old
saw -- you can please some of the people all of the time and all of the
people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time.  I should
go google that and find its origin.  Or not.  (Why are the most interesting
things -- like black holes, quantum physics, the origin of "herky-jerky"...)
never really important -- not worthy of being a priority.  Yet they drown
one in the curiosity which would, if only you were a cat, kill you.
