Judy,

Thanks for clearing that up. My wife's maiden name was Susan McWherter.
McWherter is of the Buchanan clan, so I have been told. She decided to give
her lapdog a Scottish heroic name and hit upon MacDuff, "the mighty hero who
slew Macbeth."  Also, Duff has the meaning "black" in its root some place;
which seemed appropriate to her black Schnoodle. MacDuff belonged to the
Duff clan or subclan; so Susan gave me permission to call her heroic lapdog
MacDuff or Duff but she was going to call him Duffy.

I'm sure Susan, if not Duffy, would be insulted to learn that someone from
Wales has absconded with her heroic dog's namesake's name.

oh. The Welsh Winehouse is (Aimee Ann) Duffy, singer-songwriter. (I try to
avoid her.) I assume Buffy's the vixen.

Indeed, Donal wasn't insulting Duffy the Schnoodle.

Veronica,

If Donal was insulting my photos and occasional comments, he was too subtle
by far -- at least for me. Duffy is male. Ginger and Sage are female; so
what would the Welsh Winehouse pertain to? And what vampire is given the
name Duffy?

I puzzled briefly over this note, but took my cue from the postscript and
assumed it had something to do with Eric's comments on "the least political
of the arts" discussion.

Try as I may, I cannot see Duffy being insulted in anything Donal has
written.

Sir, you are totally out of order. Duffy is a precious love. Really. You
are just jealous because she is so cute and you sir, well, to be charitable,
only half as cute. Perhaps a drink to go with Mozart to ease your pain?
