hrrm, echo $DEITY got me a blank.  (That's in zsh, haven't tried other
shells.)

Speaking of which, anyone here using zsh?  I've found that its select
loop puts things on one line rather than a line for each selection.
Wonder if I'm just missing something in the man page or faqs..
