David, Javier,

It's not mine but I'm asking for a friend of my sister's. It's an
original Leicaflex with external meter cell.

Apparently the camera is in very nice condition but the meter has
failed. It was working when they got it but after a couple of shots the
meter needle has disappeared. I know that with my SL that when not
switched on or battery has failed that the needle disppears as well so I
just wondered if there was a trick to switching on the meter for the
original Leicaflex.

The owner (in the US) feels that it will be too expensive to get fixed
and is happy to use a handheld meter with the camera.
