What's this Juno chat thing they are now touting? It requires special software
I note...has anyone tried it? I didn't see anything that really
made it all that desirable to me.

Hi Babette, and All,

I think you're probably referring to the 3D-Chat Juno added some months back,
but has been hyping lately. Actually, it's somebody else's chat, but we get
membership because we're Juno-ites.

I tried it awhile back and to be fair, didn't spend much time with it. You are
assigned a "basic" 3D avatar "body" which you can and modify as you see fit.
Then you're placed in a huge room, not unlike a major airport with "spokes"
leading out to the various gates only with a "space port" theme, and start
wandering around with all the other avatars.

It took awhile to get the darn thing going where I wanted it to and never did
find any specific "subject" areas to hang out in, although I'm sure there must
be. Mostly though it seemed like I spent my time wandering and occasionally
spoke when I happened to bump into someone.

Anyway, I'm not a real big chat fan, so that might have tainted my experience,
but after two or three forays into Juno's 3D-Chat, I pretty much closed the
hatch on that one.

George Lunt ..... so. cal.
