My usual method of changing the association of a file type is to browse to one
(in your case a photo) in Windows Explorer; right-click on it, then from the
menu select "Open With...".

If it's listed, don't select the app. you want to open the files from the menu
here. if you do the system won't remember your choice but will revert to the
previous program next time.

Instead hit the 'Choose Program' button and select the application you want to
open the file here. Should the program not be in the list, you'll have to
browse for the executable.

Finally, ensure the 'Always use the selected program to open this type of file'
tick box is selected before OK'ing.

This isn't a long message 'cos the blood is rushing to my head.

It's also different because trying to reply via Thunderbird fails, with an
error message saying it can't access my ISP's server. I'm having to reply
via Webmail, on the same MCB.net server. That works. All suggestions
welcomed.

Also for my next problem. Having loaded Photoshop Elements onto this
machine, it insists in opening all photos etc, instead of the Windows
prog. I fixed it on my IOM machine but can't remember how.
