service pack 2

Hi All, I hope this is not off topic. I turned my computer on the other day,
and was advised there was updates. I did the updated and it was the service
pack 2. However I couldn't get jaws to work in some programs, so I decided
to delete the program. Now when I turn the computer off, I hear web rebates.
Also it is taking longer to boot up. if someone could help me with this
problem, I sure would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
