Hi. In SP2, you can go to control panel, Windows Firewall, and from there turn the Windows firewall off. No, my understanding is that sp2 is providing you with a software firewall, and having one of your own running at the same time may cause problems. They have made an attempt to identify commonly available firewalls that may be running to warn you about this, but their notice says there are plenty of firewalls that they will not catch and so fail to warn you about. Xp has always had a firewall, and I guess sp2 has greatly expanded its capabilities.
