Hi, Yardbird.

Query. You characterize a repair as more "radical" than upgrading to the current version. For me, being able to merge settings is important, primarily because I have an extensive JAWS dictionary. So in my case, an upgrade is less radical than a repair, which I believe returns JAWS to factory settings. A JAWS 8 upgrade allows the user to merge settings.

You've mentioned your own reliance on the JAWS dictionary in the past. Any thoughts?

Just a thought. I wonder if performing the routine called a Jaws repair would have rectified the problem, without having to install another version or anything so radical. That is a very good thing to try routinely when something really ordinary like this mysteriously stops working right.
