You probably won't like the sound of this, but some times computers just
need the OS reinstalled. If the computer was faster when you first got it,
  you should consider this option.

checked for errors, and did a dis cleanup. Both computers have been slow
since I first got them but now there even slower.

hmmm, what version of windows are you running? 98? XP?
XP cleans up after itself pretty well I've had it on this work
computer for over 2 years and everything still runs fairly well. I've had
xp on my home computer for 4 years and it is starting to slow down quite a
bit. 3 or 4 minutes at bootup.

98SE didn't clean house very well and can drasticly slow down after a
  year or 2

other things you might think about, is getting a cleaner for ad
aware, spy ware, etc. Defragging all that fun stuff.

What else could cause computers to be slow? I have alot of memory
and ram so It should not be slow but it is.

Well, it's no secret JFW can at times be resource intensive. But,
somehow, I doubt the performance hit you take running it will be
  very
much different from if you didn't have it running. Particularly
  on
today's computers. I've run several processes I know full well
  are
more resource intensive than JFW, and this computer's nothing
special, but it was still fairly fast all things considered.
