Yes i would have thought using the caps lock would reduce keystroke
command clashes
Any idea why sometimes Jaws simply refuses to read text or names of
folders. It is saying "no font" when intterogating with insert+F: this
is an intermittent event so very hard to identify what I'm doing to
trigger off the occurrence.

It is possible to use the laptop with either configuration set in Jaws
but
the main difference is that "Laptop" uses the Caps Lock key as the
equivalent of the Jaws key whereas the "Classic Laptop" option uses the
Left
Alt key.
I prefer the "Laptop" setting as there are fewer keystroke clashes with
application keystrokes. It does, however, mean that you have to double
tap
the Caps Lock key to get the caps lock feature activated.
It's pretty much a case of personal preference.
