Hi Moty, whilst I have my pc on may as well say I phoned friend who had
Dell problems, he says after a bit of arguing he got a total Refund, then
he got an Acer, and he said that was no good, he has been over to Pc World
and thinks he saw a Dell in the store. he is not experienced and is now
using an Emailer whatever that is. re the product you mention I know only
that my Kurzweil Pals said a plug in of that make would let me use
Kurzweil from a distance. I think the company was bought by the Chinese but
I am not sure, in Dollars it was not expensive, but in Uk sterling it was.
I got good service and packing I do not know what the computers cost here
incidentally I think Lenovo was once IBM, but I may have got that back to
front. Is it Chinese? My friend says he is going to try a Toshiba if he
does and that is no goodI think he needs some lessons, he is, in fact
sighted
he is a retired solicitor, and knew how to argue to get his money back but
when in practise he did not ever use a computer. If you have tried the
Models Moti were you happy with them? Dorothy

hi re Dell I have a friend who has had to return his Dell three times, I
know in America they can be bought in a Superstore I think in Uk you
still
have to buy without seeing it? if not which superstore has them on the
shelf? Additionally would it not be better to wait until Service Pack 3
is
put on by the Makers so you get it patched if that is what Sp 3 really is?
a
fix for Vista? I mean in recent years if you bought Xp either
Professional
or home it came patched before you got it home. I know Toshiba is good and
I
know recently someone on this list got one I thought was a bargain, How
do
I remember because I thought Francis was a she and not a he until George
told me, remember the Post " I am going shopping? That was Francis
determined and informed, should have guessed was a He not she!

Thanks for that. My old one was a Dell, so I know they are good.

Advent is a Dixons own brnad, I would try for something with a bigger
name
and in the mid market considering prices are really quite cheap these
days.
Try Dell or Toshiba for instance. Dell are not widely sold except rhrough
their online presence however you may get a recomendation from someone who
has got one recently.

Just wondering, has anyone on here ever used an Advent computer? They are
a range I know little about, so just wanted some user feedback before
taking
the plunge on a good looking one I've seen.

Perhaps any messages off-list would be the best idea?

 Thanks
