Which one, the quick start or the interface tutorial? I went with the quick start guide. Also in configuring the cache only server it appears as though it's suggested that I add the IP's of my ISP to this cache-only server instead of the internal DNS server. So am I correct in that the internal DNS server will have only the IP of the ISA server as its forwarder? Or am I missing something? _____ From: John Tolmachoff (Lists) [mailto:johnlist@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2004 8:31 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: Split-DNS, is it really necessary...for me? http://www.ISAserver.org That looks correct. For dynamic IP addresses quick start suggests configuring the external as so: Obtain IP automatically Use the following DNS server: ISA server IP The interface tutorial mentions: IP address: 123.123.123.170 Subnet: 255.255.255.248 GW: 123.123.123.169 DNS: blank Advanced: Uncheck "register this connection's ." WINS: Uncheck "Enable LMHOSTS lookup" Select: Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP. Kinda confused on which way to go with this?
