Well, it really doesn't matter the flavor of the webserver ;) The reason is: the firewall is a dedicated-purpose machine. At start we think "but hey, this machine isn't doing nothing and I could put my webserver there. The fact is: you would compromise security, thus the product isn't meant to be used that way. Hosting sites on the same machine that ISA is running is quite troublesome. I'd recommend against it. You could explain the old chaps that in case the Firewall is compromised, noone would be able to hack your exchange system, because it is hosted on another system. ISA is an additional layer of security, but it is meant to be used in front of your Exchange boxes. One of Directors in a meeting suggested 'can we run OWA on an ISA box' I thought it was abad idea but needed some real world opinions as to why not. And no I would'nt run IIS on a Checkpoint box would'nt that be Apache? -----Original Message----- From: Andrew English [mailto:andrew@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 21 December 2005 13:03 To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: ISA and OWA http://www.ISAserver.org Ahh... How do I put this? ISA will host the FBA part of OWA but OWA doesn't run on ISA server itself, it runs from your Exchange server. Any specific reasons so I go back to the chaps at the top who sign the cheques?
