You are welcome to accompany ilugc in their events and contact them as
ilugc and do whatever you want, than going there personally and meeting
them as an individual (though you have the freedom to do). Avoiding to give
the details viz phone number of contact person can even be due to the
personal request of the contact person.
Why can't you take Shrinivasan as the convenor for this program and join
hands with him instead of talking about fair competition
