Instead of trying to connect several independent pieces of software, I
suggest you go for the full Courier suite. It supports virtual
mailboxes via a number of different authentication methods (flat
files, mysql/postgresql databases, ldap etc.) and comes with an
integrated pop/imap server and webmail system (requires apache).
