1. Maybe, try to update the system and see if any new
kernel has the support enabled?
OR
2. Compile a stock kernel (from kernel.org) with the
support that you need.

Obviously ... you didn't do anything different.
Also, what is that rpm
package that will help me get the source from the
installation CDs onto the box?
