Dear friends,
Warm greeting,We need a venue to celebrate software freedom day. We will ask
the elcot administration to host the events. We can have Linux Demo Day and
seminars in the elcot campus. If we are going to have a software freedom
walk on the same day, we can have a shorter version of it. If we can start
it from Anna University- Guindy walk down via Kotturpuram and proceed to
ELCOT office at nandanam signal,Chennai.
We can call this walk as "Guindy March". Remembering The dandi march is
for getting the freedom for the country against the imperialistic british
regime, Guindy march is to symbolize the freedom of software in the
computing world. If Dandi march is a salt satyagraha , "guindy march" should
symbolize the begining of software satyagraha.
We are running short of time to decide on this, We have to plan, intimate
our college pals to participate in this event. We have to take permission
from Elcot administration,Police dept clearance for walk.We have to intimate
the media friends for publicity, we have to look for sponsor for
T-shirts/Cds if any. Please add your views and lets makes this idea of us
transformed into reality.
