That is the short version I guess. :-) I told you not to worry about the
Deskbar Leaf/Feather. As for About Haiku, it is supposed to say "About
System" in default builds, in any case, the plan is that this is easy to modify for distro builders. I guess you could view it like this: If you want to distribute Haiku this early, while we have not been able to prepare for distro makers as fully as we would like, it is your job to live with
these limitations and figure out workarounds. :-)

I would rather leave things the way they were, but was told by Koki that I was violating the distro guidelines.

No, of course not! You just have to figure out a way to make it clear from this about panel, that You are the one making this distribution, and not
Haiku Inc.

I understand this statement, but again a difference of opinion across Haiku developers - see:

What's your point of this mailing list post? Remember, it's being sent to lots of people.

You were informed that you are in violation of the guidelines and that you need to make changes to comply with them if you want to continue to distribute your Haiku images.

It's your responsability to comply with such licensing terms.

You could be happy if someone wants to help you simplify the changes you'd need to make, but in no way can you take that as an argument for deliberately violating the rules now that you know!
