Hello John and listers, First, let me say that I have been told by Jonathan Mosen that I will come home from the conferences with a BrailleNote PK to begin developing around. Since it will be several months before this product is available, we are hopeful that a GPS version can be added to this very attractive little unit by the time it is released. In terms of the relationship between Sendero and PDI, it is pretty straight forward. Sendero develops and distributes the GPS as well as distributing the BrailleNote products. PDI distributes the GPS supplied to them by Sendero. Prior to the new version 3, PDI sourced their own hardware to go with the GPS. This unfortunately is where things got messy because their customers were getting an older receiver while Sendero customers were getting a newer receiver for the same price. Hence forth, the entire package will be provided by Sendero to PDI so everyone is getting the same package. I'd like to think that Sendero will have the best possible service and expertise but users have options from which to choose. In terms of compatibility with Keysoft 6.1, you will have to use our track record to decide what to expect since there is nothing concrete to comment upon yet. Version 3 came out within 9 months of Version 2 and I think the price is pretty reasonable considering all one gets. If we add a ton of features, there will be a charge for that as you would expect. If there are just minor changes and the update can be emailed, there probably would not be a charge. Keep in mind that there is always a long lag between the first time something is demonstrated and when it is actually shipping.
