Hello gameprogrammer, I've been shopping around for a good 3d model format. As I understand it, the most important features for a model format are storing texture coordinates and animation information (skeletal or otherwise). I'm interesting in creating a rather amateurish game and am not too hung up on having information for ragdoll physics, etc. in my models. I'd like to use Blender for modeling, but am open to other programs available on Linux. Does anyone have a favorite 3d model format that more or less fits my needs and some references to go with it?
