We are currently using two types to communicate to AB PLC's. AB-STATIONS, and FBM224. The best by far is the 224, but unless you've got a CP60 and are willing to move to v6.5, that isn't an option. The AB Stations which requires the co-processor, have fallen by the waste side and have become issues with every software upgrade. With the Integrator 30, you will have to sacrifice 2 to 3 second delays do loading issues if you plan on grabbing multiple registry lists. That's where the 224 standout. **************************************************** Josh Nix I & E Tech. We have be extremely pleased with the communication interface. It is setup RS232 Modbus getting 356 registers and appears to be handling it very well. We still hardware any control or external shutdown functions. Took us just a bit to figure out the transitions. Thanks Troy Troy L. Just installed one of these at one of my sites. Went pretty well, except the card does not support double precision numbers (4 registers instead of 2 for a float). Also, can have redundant ports, but not redundant cards talking to the same Slave device. We're looking to install an Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1500 in the utility area, and I'm told it has a built-in "MODBUS RTU" port (although I don't see that on the AB website). We're running v4.3 so I'm limited in which interface cards I can use - INI15, INI30, etc. My past experience is with AB SLC50's. Does anybody have any experience with this AB MicroLogix 1500 interfacing to I/A?
