Duc. Thanks for the quick response. Again, the Cassandra Project and GNU software to the rescue. I did have some trouble opening the tarball, I think that my web browser is to blame. When I downloaded the tarball, the extension was changed from .Z to .z, causing uncompress to fail. ...I wonder if micros~t will ever recognize the difference between upper and lower case text? Once I realized what had happened, I renamed the file and uncompress then worked. Darryls' program dmstatus works GREAT! It even gives the pid of all of the running DM's. -Regards, Brian ----- Forwarded by Brian Bates/TBY/Bowater on 10/08/2003 08:06 AM ----- duc.do@dowcorning .com To: foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent by: cc: foxboro-bounce@fr Subject: Re: [foxboro] DM_Usage eelists.org 10/07/2003 02:23 PM Please respond to foxboro Check out Darryl Bond's contribution on the Cassandra Project: http://www.thecassandraproject.org/archive/dmstat.html Duc -- Duc M. I would like to get the information presented in the DM_Usage display from the command-line, when there are no DM's avaiable. I have found that if I call up the DM_Usage display from a DM, then run strings on the data file "/usr/fox/wp/data/<AWLBUG>/<DMNAME>/viewdm.readfile" , I get the information that I need. The problem is that the information in the viewdm.readfile is only updated when the DM_Usage file is selected on a running DisplayManager. I need to see this information when I cannot access a DM. . Does anybody know how to update the viewdm.readfile from the command-line? -Regards, Brian Bates Bowater Inc.
