Another alternative to the already mentioned utilities to kill idle DM's is to
use VNC to serve the displays. The RealVNC version has an optional timeout
that can be set. I switched all of my Exceed user to VNC and set the
idle timeout
to 30 minutes. It works like a charm and keeps the DM's freed up.
