I guess I was more confused about the "solstice" comment, that is a pretty
sweet little ride when you consider what its up against, I know a guy that
bought one and drove it home stripped it down and races it- pretty sweet
car- What else can you buy - a miata? I like the Pontiac better than the
sky anyday, but that's my opinion
I thought the Pontiacs were, well many of them were pretty fun to drive,
overpowered FWD cars,

Not sure that anyone ever liked anything about an oldsmobile made in the
last 10-20 years, well except a couple obvious ones, and they even had their
issues.
The 2001 Aurora I had was a beast, what a sweet ride for just over
$10,000-(used 3 years old with 50k but you would have been surprised that
this car was ever driven) leather, like new, power seats- any option GM had
and it was on that car, not to mention an award winning engine- that 4.0
would get well over 30mpg on the highway and was plenty of power when you
wanted it (for a normal guy who hadn't yet experienced a real hot rod
driver)
The problem was oil smoke, yes oil burn/smoke would blow thru the vents
inside the car when idling at an intersection. Not good for the clients
riding shot gun. Come to find out 2 other guys I have known who had them
told me they had the same thing happen to them. WTH causes that? And how
does it happen, it didn't leak, oil levels stayed normal, and didn't smoke
thru exhaust...

Olds seemed to be the cars that GM put everything into that didn't quite
work in the other cars, just to get rid of it? The parts weren't even good
enough for a buick :)

? The pontiac comment? The only thing Pontiac had been
selling at the end were lumina variants and filling up the crappy used car
lots. They are worthless for resale cause the interior was so cheaply made
etc. They haven't made anything decent for many years. They couldn't come
up with a decent car of their on so corporate GM had to import the Aussie
car and sell it under the Pontiac brand to try to get something good but
they over priced it and it didn't look like a GTO. Then they tried again
and failed.
